Gosh, your hubby's remark was a bit brutal! I take it he's not into fairies then LOL!!! You've picked out the colours from the decoupage and used them for your DP which is great and I like fairies so think the decoupage is fine. I might have gone for one of the colours, possibly green, and then used the white DP as a contrast but there's nothing wrong with your card.
