Charisma Cardz - Favourite Animal

STUPID BLOGGER!!! THIS WAS SCHEDULED BUT DIDN'T POST AAAARGH!

This week at Charisma Cardz we have a fun and fab challenge  YOUR FAVOURITE ANIMAL chosen by Allison!

We have 2 fab sponsors too as always!

I have many favourite animals dogs, bears, pandas, monkeys but my all time favourite is elephants.  I have always loved elephants since i was a tiny girl and went to London Zoo and had a ride on one, i wanted to take it home with me.

Anyway onto my card:

I have used this gorgeous digi from Mo Manning called I forgot.  I coloured with promarkers and the background is done with distress inks (although i am not happy with the grass)
The papers are Wild Rose Studio Strawberry Picnic
The velvet ribbon is from my local market and was a bargain at 50p for 2 metres!!
The flowers are glittered with stickles and are from Wild Orchid Crafts
The pearls were in my stash.

Thanks for looking

Quick and Easy Wild Rose Studio Bella!

Card Making, Rubber Stamps and Craft Supplies at Handy Hippo

I am so excited to be doing this post tonight!  In collaboration with Handy Hippo, the online craft store, this is my first step by step card tutorial!
The idea is, i make a card taking photos at different points and this will give you inspiration and help should you need it!
I am going to show you how to make the above card, so you will need:
6" Scalloped Square Card
Wild Rose Studio Bella With Mum Clear Stamp
Wild Rose Studio 6 x 6 Bella Paper Pad
Pale Pink Ribbon
3 Shades of co-ordinating card stock
Paper Flowers
Gems

So here goes:

First stamp out the image and colour with promarkers.
Set aside.

Take a piece of the darkest card stock (i used Cherry) and cut to 13.5 cm (5 1/4") square
Take a piece of balloon paper and cut to 13cm square
Stick the 2 together and then to a 6 x 6" scalloped card blank

Next, take the middle shade of card stock and cut to 8cm x 12cm (3 1/4" x 4 1/2")
Take piece of the plainer paper from the paper pad and cut to 7.5cm x 11.5cm
Mount the 2 together.
Next take a piece of pale pink ribbon and put a strip down the centre and attach at the back
Then stick this to the card, as above.

Next make a bow and attach to the top of the ribbon.
Next, cut the image into a square and mount onto the lightest cardstock
I used an Xcut nesting die here, but cutting with a trimmer or guillotine would work just as well.
Take 3 pale pink paper flowers and place in the bottom left corner, place a gem in the centre of each one
Last step is to add 3 gems to the top right corner.

And here is the finished card! I always try to leave enough room on my cards to add a sentiment and this is usually personalised to the recipient.  In this case i would put the sentiment in the bottom right corner.

I hope you have enjoyed my tutorial and maybe got some inspiration from it!
If you would like to try this out for yourself,  click on the Happy Hippo button below and it will take you directly to their site and place all the main items that you will need to complete this project in a basket.  Of course you can remove or add items as required.
Thank you for looking

My mum's Mother's Day Card

Hi everyone, i am slowly getting over the torn muscle in my shoulder, thanks to painkillers and i will be starting Physiotherapy soon, why is it always the hand you write with?  Anyway i have a card to share with you today.

This is the card i made for my mum for mother's day last weekend.  It is using the new Wild Rose Studio range, stamp and paper Bella.  How cute are these new stamps?  I coloured with promarkers.  The little butterfly is embellished with Liquid Pearls.  The ribbon is from Anita's.  The butterfly is punched using Tonic Studios butterfly punch.  The flowers are from Wild Orchid Crafts.

I hope you like this, my mum did :-)
Thanks for looking x

1st of many posts today!

I haven't posted much lately as i have just been busy, busy, busy!  Today is my youngest son's birthday.  Jack is 3 today!! Where does the time go??

Those of you that are regular followers know that i'm not much of a cd crafter, but i am a HUGE fan of anything to do with Elephants!!  So when Crafters Companion brought out The Humphrey's Corner CD-Rom i had to have it!!

This is a card that you literally print and stick together!  I just added a couple of bits to it.

I mounted it on some purple cardstock.  I went around the edges with wink of Stella pens and added some ribbon.

I think it makes a great quick card and although this one i think is for valentines day, i used it for birthdays!

Thanks for looking, i will be back again soon.

A Catch Up! SMC - Punch it

I am soooo late with this post, i am sorry!

This week at SMC our theme is punch it - we would like to see what you can do with your punches!

This is my card.  I have used a circle punch for the punched part.

I used Eris the elephant which if anyone follows my blog regularly you will know i just adore elephants! He is coloured with promarkers and pencils.  I love this colour combo and don't know why i don't use it more!!  The papers were sent to me in a swap i did recently.  The sentiment is from my Incy Wincy Team mate Netty, she has some fabulous sentiments over on her blog not to mention her fabulous cards! Be sure to pop over and say hi!

SMC - Anything Goes! And image winner!

The winner of the image i used for the blog hop is :

WENCHEP!

On to this weeks challenge, it is Anything goes! I have used one of the images from the May new releases.  As elephants are my favourite animal i couldn't resist this gorgeous one.

I have coloured coloured with promarkers and highlighted with my new Prisma Colouring pencils, oh they are lovely to colour with.  I mounted it on to a large scalloped square nestie.  The ribbon across the middle is a suede effect one that is just lovely.  The dummie charm was from ebay, how cute is it? Buttons from my stash.  The sentiment is from the new Tulip range and the paper is one that i received in a swap.

My next card i made is using this weeks freebie.  I love this freebie as it is so verstaile.  My printer was playing up so i printed this image 3 times, co i decided to decoupage it slightly, but as my camera is also playing me up i couldn't get a better picture of it.  I coloured with promarkers and embellished the centres with gems.  The paper was from a swap i received.  The sentiment is also from the Tulip range.

My Guest Designer spot on Prairie Fairy!

A couple of weeks ago i won the Birthday challenge over at Prairie Fairy and part of my prize was to be a GD this week!

The challenge this time is 'For a Sweetheart'!  Well the other part of my prize was to choose some digis, well elephants are my FAVOURITE animal and as soon as i saw Elsie and Elwin Elephant, i knew i had to have them and use them for my GD spot, so here is what i did with them:

Inside

The tag says 'My love will be your's forever'

And the sentiment inside says 'If i had a flower for every time i think about you, i could walk forever in my garden'

The papers are the Born to shop range.
