Sew Many Cards - Star challenge

Challenge #45 Star Challenge

Boy, do we have a treat for you today. This week we are sponsored by Sew Many Cards and STAMP AND CREATE. This week you can win a $10 gift certifiate from Sew Many Cards and these 3 digi images from Stamp and Create.

We know that all of you are stars and this weeks challenge is all about stars. Our team was very busy this week, as everyone wanted to play with the Stamp and Create image. Which means that we made a card with a Sew Many Cards image, a card with a Stamp and Create image and a card with the Friday Freebie.

So my first card i made was this one which was for the main theme of stars.  I used last weeks freebie Oliver with Flower, which if you missed him as the freebie last week he is available in the SMC store here.  Also be sure to check out his (girlfriend or sister whichever you prefer) Olivia she is equally as cute.  Oliver is coloured with promarkers and mounted on Dovecraft paper. And touched up with flat pearls, card candy, ribbon and flower soft (although i'm not keen on the effect it has given)

My second card was using this weeks freebie, Marvin the Mouse.  Again he is coloured with promarkers.  I wanted to keep this very simple.  The paper is from Piece of Cake range. The sentiment is LOTV mounted onto a brown prima flower.  The hearts and ribbon are from my stash.  Be sure to go snag him here and don't forget he is only a freebie until midnight tonight!

And last but not least is my card i made using the Stamp and Create digi.  As always it is coloured with promarkers and mounted on Bazzil cardstock.  The papers are Honey and Hugs and Forever Friends.  The border is cut from a Tim Holtz die.  The sentiment is Forever Friends. The pearls are from my stash.

The design team have all excelled themselves this week, so be sure to check out their creations this week.
Last thing i would like to add is don't forget to join in with our blog hop on the 4th March

Thanks for looking.

INCY WINCY DESIGNS - I made the design team!!

I am so happy to annouce i made the design team on Incy Wincy Designs!!!  My first challenge was to make a card using die cuts or punches!

The Sponsor for this week is Peggy Loves Vintage

Here is a little information about Peggy:

Hi,

I'm lucky enough to be a retired grandma who spends the day working with my vintage card collection. My husband and I have shared almost 37 years together and we have 2 sons and a daughter and 2 glorious grand kids that turn 4 and 7 in May.

I started collecting Vintage Greeting Cards quite by accident. I was helping with an Aunt's estate sale and ran across her Vintage Greeting Card collection. The images on the Vintage Cards were so bright and cheerful that I just fell in love with them. As my collection grew and provided such joy and entertainment for me, I knew that others would get as much out of them as I did. So I decided I'd share my collection thus, the birth of PeggyLovesVintage.

Each card is carefully scanned at a 600 dpi resolution and saved in .jpg format. I only scan cards that are free of any copyright restrictions. I keep each and every card, so if any question ever arise I can provide documentation that this is truly the case.

Special software is not required to use my images. If you have printed out a picture from a digital camera, it’s pretty much the same concept and just as easy. Of course if you are so inclined, and if you do have imaging software, you can clone, cut and paste and even change the colors on the image.

The possibilities are endless, so please take a moment and visit my web store by clicking below or copy and paste the link into your browser. So sit back, relax and enjoy your journey back in time.

You can also find PeggyLovesVintage images on Etsy.com and eBay.

Hugs to all!

Peggy

Here is what i did:

I decided to go for a vintage distressed look this time, as i don't do them very often.  I used Tim Holtz Distress ink in Tea Dye.  The scalloped circles are punched out and then embossed.  I put some distress ink inside the folder before embossing.  The frame around the image is a nestie die.  I sanded all the edges for an extra distressed look.

Stay tuned! We will be having a blog hop on the 4th of March and we hope you can join us for it. Please feel free to grab this badge to spread the news!

This week the challenge is a sketch. You can turn it, flip it or leave it as is. You don't have to use a Sew Many Cards image, but it really makes our day when we see you use them.

Angela has some really cute images, in the shop here

I have used Harley and Halo which is available here.  I have coloured them with promarkers and mounted it onto cream bazzil card which is then mounted onto some Winnie the Pooh backing paper and then onto some Papermania paper.  Butterfly is Martha Stewart. Scallop is Tim Holtz Die.

Also, as today is Friday, that means that it is time for another Friday Freebie!! Availabe today and today only. You can snag it here. Make sure you do as he is a cutie!

Red and Black Tilda

This card is a little out of my comfort zone, but i really like how it has turned out.  Tilda is coloured with promarkers and glossed with glossy accents on the bow and arrow.  And there is glitter on her headband.  The card blank is from Craftwork cards. I'm not too sure where the paper is from as it was a bunch i brought from ebay.  The flowers are prima with card candy in the centre.  The black doily is cut from a nellie.  And the ribbon is from Crafty ribbons.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

The Secret Crafter - Valentine
Stamping with the Dragon - Anything Goes

Penny Black Baby Card

I have tried to keep this card clean and simple.  The blue checked paper is from Papermania.  The embossed square is embossed by a cuttlebug border folder.  The flowers are from prima and the centres are brads.  The image is coloured with promarkers and glossed with glossy accents.

I would like to enter this into the following challenges:

Sarah Kay i think? NO IT IS BUGABOO!!! I MADE A MISTAKE!

I love this image!  It just really appealed to me.  The card is Top Notch by CraftWorks Cards, the paper is some from a Pink Petticoat paper pad that was free with a magazine.

I think this image is Sarah Kay, but i could be wrong (If anyone knows please let me know) I coloured her with promarkers.  No it is Bugaboo! Sorry for the mistake!

The butterflies are punched from a Martha Stewart punch and glitter with stickles.

The flowers, pins, lace and stamens are from Wild Orchid Crafts and Mulberry Crafts.

The ribbon is from Crafty Ribbons.

Weddings!

I have never made a Wedding card before but when i saw this image i just had to use it!  I don't think you cn see it too well but the white card is embossed on the cuttlebug!  The image is from here
